Married Benjamin Franklin Rice on December 21, 1938 in the parsonage of a church in Tiffin OH. Rev. Cludy’s daughter served as witness. Ruby said they didn’t tell anyone for two or three days because she had always wanted to be secretly married. They both came from Eastern KY with their families between 1936 and 1938. Except for about two years during WWII when they lived in Baltimore, MD where Ben worked as a welder in the shipyards, they lived in Carey, OH the rest of their lives.
